Description

This is a used 16mm comedy filmstrip of Monty Banks in the train comedy, THE PULLMAN BERTH.  The film is crisp and clear but a little 'wavy' here and there -- looks like a much enjoyed film.  One reel labeled 50'.  Original box is excellent condition and labeled PATHEGRAM HOME MOVIES,  #611 from their catalog or inventory. I took photos of frame at the public library where I viewed this and other 16mm films at auction on library's microfilm reader since I don't have my projector running yet.  Story goes, everyone else is in bed and Monty is trying to get into his berth for bedtime; he enters and is scrunched with so little headroom, and literally does a sommersault to get his suit jacket off.  He finally gets undressed and under the covers, but his toes are sticking out and a parrot has gotten out of his cage.  Seeing the toes, the bird takes a nip of them, and Monty starts shouting HELP, HELP.  The bird mimes the HELP HELP and keeps it up.  Monty is trying to snatch the bird to put him away but manages to tumble headfirst into the berth below his, where he finds a lady his age who is in PJs and surprised to see him.  More tussle with the bird, more HELP HELP which alerts the conductor.  You will have to see how it ends by bidding and winning this fun old transportation film which comes from the 1930-1940's time period.   See my other vintage home viewing 16mm films at auction this week and combine on postage!  Thanks for looking !
